National Coming Out Day 2012

Come Out. Vote.

October 11 is National Coming Out Day, an annual event sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and to promote LGBT rights. The 2012 theme is Come Out. Vote. The following are resources from the CSUMB Library and elsewhere on topics of interest to the LGBT community and their straight allies.

New "Search" on Library home page

There is a new search available via the Library home page. We have moved around our other links to highlight it. You can use this search to find books, articles, and more by choosing one of the options from the dropdown "Find..." box. There are a number of options for narrowing your results on the right of the search results page. For those of you who want to search specific databases or our online catalog, the "Articles & Databases" and "Find Books (Classic)" will take you to the same pages as before.

Stonewall Book Awards honor LGBT content

Each year, books of exceptional merit that reflect the LGBT experience are recognized by the American Library Association's Stonewall Book Awards. Winners and honor books are chosen in literature, non-fiction, and children's/young adult categories. The CSUMB Library is pleased to report that our collection has 13 of the 15 Stonewall selections for 2012, listed below.
