Your current CSUMB ID card is required for borrowing all items from the Library. Items must be brought to the Circulation Desk for checkout. Some students may need to complete a library registration form.
Circulating Book Collection:
CSUMB undergraduates, post baccalaureate: 3 weeks
CSUMB graduate students: 6 weeks
Videotape/DVD Collection: 1 Day
Audio CD Collection: 3 Days
Course Reserve Collection: 2 hours, 1 day, 3 days or 2-hour In-Library Use Only
Special Reserve Collection: 2 hours, 1 day, 3 days
Periodicals and Reference materials do not circulate.
Under most circumstances stacks books may be renewed up to three times without being returned to the Library. Course Reserves cannot be renewed. To renew your library materials visit Renew Books and login to your library account, call the Circulation Desk at 582-3733, or send an e-mail request to email@example.com.
If the book you need is checked out you can place a hold or recall except for items on course reserves.
Hold - The patron who currently has the item checked out must return the item on its due date. If the item is not returned on the due date, the patron will begin to accrue overdue fees. When the item is returned you will receive email notification that the item is available.
Recall - The patron who currently has the item checked out must return the item 5 days after the recall is placed. If the item is not returned on the new due date, the patron will begin to accrue recall fees. When the item is returned you will receive email notification that the item is available.
Holds/Recalls may not be placed on Course Reserves, Special Reserves, Videotapes, DVD's, or Audio CD's.
Library cards are non-transferable. Abuse of library privileges may result in loss of borrowing privileges. For more information visit our Library Conduct Policy.
Return of Material
All items borrowed need to be returned when they are due to the library's circulation desk or book return bins. All items returned after the date are subject to fees established by CSUMB Library, for more information on the overdue policy visit our Overdue, Recall and Replacement Fees Policy.
