What is the default password?
The first time you log in, your password is your date of birth, in Monthddyyyy format. If you were born on February 14, 1990, enter February141990.

Where else are there computers on campus?
PC and Mac computer labs or lab classrooms can be used when no classes are in session:

  • Media Learning Center rms. 104, 106, 110, and 156
  • Chapman Science Academic Center (Bldg. 53 S128)
  • Bldg. 82B rm. 115
  • Bldg. 82D rm. 115

Where can I use a scanner?
There is a scanner in rm. 1111 in the library. Scanners are also available for use in the Media Learning Center (Bldg 18), rm. 106; and  Valley Hall (Bldg. 82) D-115 from M-F when class is not in session. Instructions for use are attached to the scanners.

How do I check my printing balance?
Go to your MyCSUMB Dashboard, click Add an Application, and choose the Print Balance application under My Info. Drag the application to your dashboard and click save. You can then keep track of your print balance from your Dashboard.

How do I add money to my printing balance?

Where can I get software help (using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)?
The help menus in the Microsoft Office applications can answer most questions. Otherwise, the IT Help Desk is staffed with students who will sometimes provide basic help with software. For learning software, students can also make an appointment with a Tech Tutor at ASAP, located on the second floor of the library.

Where is there a computer loaded with Photoshop?
All labs in Media Lesrning Center and all library computers have Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop.

Where can I send a fax?
From the Student Center Bldg., for $0.25 per page.

Where is there a color copier or printer?
There are no color copiers or printers currently available for student use on campus. There is one black and white copier located on the first floor of the library. Students may pay for copies with change or $1 bills.

Where can I get change?
In the Campus Bookstore, the Dining Commons and the Otter Express. Peet's will only give change upon purchase of an item.

Where can I put OtterBucks on my Otter ID card?
At the Campus Service Center (located on the 1st floor of the Student Services Building, Bldg. 47)

Where are the ATM machines?
There is an ATM outside the Otter Express west entrance (left side of building)
