Library Survey a Success!

Many thanks to those students, faculty, and staff who participated in our Fall 2011 library survey. 1,157 of you took a few minutes to let us know how we're doing, and we've been carefully considering your feedback. The most notable result is that users are much more satisfied with the library than they were in 2005, when we last administered the survey. This increase was especially dramatic in the "Library as Place" category, indicating a high level of appreciation for our new building.

New here?

Take a look at our New Student FAQ for answers to the 20 most commonly asked questions in the library. You can also get to the FAQ and lots of other helpful info by clicking the "How Do I..." link on the library homepage. Oh, and welcome to CSUMB!

Changes to library computers for spring 2012

We've made a few changes to the computers on the first floor of the library. We've added six new machines, bringing the total to 51. Most computers now run Windows 7 only, but three run Mac OS. Because we've eliminated the dual-boot system, the login process for all the machines is faster.

Want to "hangout" on Google+?

google circleWe at the library want to encourage you to activate your new campus Google+ account. G+ offers additional ways to interact and collaborate with other G+ users on campus, including being able to initiate or participate in hangouts with people from your circles.

In the quiet areas, please set your cell phones to silent and refrain from having conversations with others. The library and your fellow students thank you.

National Coming Out Day

Coming Out for Equality

October 11 is National Coming Out Day, an annual event sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and to promote LGBT rights. The 2011 theme is Coming Out for Equality. The following are resources from the CSUMB Library and elsewhere on topics of interest to the LGBT community and their straight allies.
